Well, maybe second.

I have been knitting on an entrelac scarf though. I’m using Paton’s SWS in the “Natural Plum”. I am enjoying the entrelac. We’ll see if I enjoy it enough for three more skeins of it. I like watching Babylon 5 on DVD while I knit.

Ah the monkeymind. So anyway the plot is tweaked, I’m interested; someone has died already.

I didn’t actually write 2946 words today. I wrote a nice tiny chunk on Thursday and forgot to update my wordcount and you can’t go back and fill in previous days numbers. I only wrote about 2200 words today. Sure I could keep an excel spreadsheet like I did before but I have enough distractions.

And now for my reward – an episode of Babylon 5 season 3 that my brother borrowed from his step-father-in-law for me for my birthday.

I know I don’t have time to write so how do I have time to reward myself with entertainment? Whatever it takes to get me to sit at the computer (I’ve got season 4 too).

I was too tired to stay up until midnight and start, but I might as well make the best use of a sleepless situation. (I’ll have to get over that whole too tired to write thing, won’t I?)

1,125 so far many miles to go before I sleep, er… complete my “novel”

I’m really tired. I’ve had a bit too much Halloween sugar and putting the boys to bed reminded me of how much I’d like to be asleep right now. Plus they are getting up ear.ly with all of this timechange business.

So much to do and I just want to sleep. Typical.

I have actually finished some knitting. I found this pattern on MagKnits for using up handspun stash – beautiful yarn that you don’t have enough of for a traditional project like a scarf and the thick and thin means socks are right out.

All this needs is a button so I can have my end-weaving-in needle back for it’s original use. I stuck my needle in there on a whim and now I want a button that will act the same way as the needle is in this pic but be much prettier, and less blue.

This yarn is awesome and the pattern was fun. I was worried that I wouldn’t have enough since I had about 3/4 of the yardage called for. I did have a good bit left so maybe I can go back and do a real button flap. Maybe.

Pattern: Chunky Funky Cable Bag

Yarn: Houndscroft Handspun – Drop Cloth

Needles: US10 1/2

Started: Sept or Oct
Finished: It was a quick knit; I think I finished it in a week but then it languished in my stash before I finally mattress stiched it together.

Mods: I was afraid of running out of yarn so so I knocked most of the numbers down by 1/4. Instead of doing 4×4 cables I did 3×3. I didn’t knit 12 repeats for the body but only 8 or 9. Since I didn’t think I’d have enough to do the button flap I didn’t and planned on a chain loop around a button and a bit of the body of the bag folding over the become a flap on it’s own. I ended up with enough to make that flap if I want. Though my main piece ended up longer and skinnier than I expected so I wanted to fold over the top to try to square up the look of the bag a bit. We’ll see.

I loved the meandering cable. It would be a great stitch pattern in any number of other things, like a scarf.

I think I’ve earned this wig. I love it! I wonder if I have time to make it for Halloween this year?

I almost cried when I read this part:
